Riverside's Monroe Elementary celebrates healthy nutrition choices in The Nutritional Tree of Life.  The concept was created by Read 180 teacher, Carol Wiley, who envisioned a tree full of every fruit and vegetable you can imagine.  We worked together with her Read 180 students after school for 2 months to create this magical mosaic tree.  The students were encouraged to make color choices, learned the basics of mosaic form, movement and materials.

Coaster Conundrum

January -February 2013

Did someone say hunt? The Pick Group is kicking off, for the second time, “Coaster Conundrum” campaign on January 15, 2013 with a Coaster Hunt. The goal of the project is to promote Riverside as a cultural and artistically innovative hot spot. The Group has commissioned five locally known artists to provide their best representation of Riverside culture to be displayed on one side of a set of 12,000 custom drink coasters.

“We had over 70 participants throughout the evening meaning great exposure for our local artists,” said Brian Moore, who has spearheaded the event for the past two years. “It is really about showcasing Riverside’s next big artists. People like Carlos Puma, Irvin Guzman, Denise Kraemer, Erin Maxwell and Maggie Tello-Case who all took part in the coaster design.”
